Accessibility Statement

Last reviewed: July 2026

At PC Web Design, accessibility isn’t an afterthought — it’s built into how I design and develop every site, including this one.

Our Commitment

This website has been built with accessibility in mind, aiming to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA wherever practical. I believe every visitor, regardless of ability or the device they’re using, should be able to navigate, understand, and interact with this site without barriers.

What We’ve Done

  • Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images, so screen reader users get a genuine description of the content rather than a filename or nothing at all.
  • Labelled interactive elements — buttons and calls to action include clear ARIA labels describing their purpose (e.g. “Get in touch to get started”), not just generic text.
  • Colour contrast checked and adjusted throughout the site to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios for text readability.
  • Responsive design tested extensively across desktop, tablet, and mobile breakpoints — not just at standard device sizes, but at the in-between widths where layouts commonly break, to ensure content remains usable and readable at every screen size.
  • Semantic, structured HTML via a well-configured page builder setup, supporting proper heading hierarchy and logical reading order.
  • Fast, lightweight pages — performance matters for accessibility too, particularly for visitors on slower connections or older devices.

Known Limitations

No website is ever “finished” from an accessibility standpoint — it’s an ongoing process, not a one-time checkbox. Areas I’m continuing to review and improve include:

  • Full keyboard navigation testing across all interactive components.
  • Third-party embedded content (such as Google Maps), which may not fully meet the same accessibility standards as the rest of the site.
  • Ongoing review of ARIA usage as the site evolves, to ensure labels stay accurate and meaningful.

If you encounter any accessibility barriers while using this site, I’d genuinely like to hear about it. Please get in touch:
